Most people who are looking for ways to prevent underarm sweating will usually look at antiperspirants first, since this is the most uninvasive method. Antiperspirants can be applied to different areas of the skin, mainly on areas that are sweating excessively. Different areas will, however, require different amounts of antiperspirant, and also depending on the severity of your sweating.
What the antiperspirants will do when applied to your underarm is, it will block the sweat glands around the skin from releasing sweat to the skin surface, thus prevent underarm sweating. If you have sensitive skin, you might want to consult your doctor first before trying antiperspirants. One of the most common side effects of antiperspirants is skin irritation, therefore you should be careful if you have sensitive skin.
Before applying antiperspirant to any area of your skin, ensure that the skin surface area is dry. After applying the antiperspirant, you can leave it on your skin surface for up to eight hours. Ideally, if you want to apply antiperspirants, you should look to apply them in the morning, and also at night.
If you do decide to use antiperspirant to prevent underarm sweating, make sure you consult your doctor to find out the intensity you should use, because different people will have different reactions to it. Personally, I do not use antiperspirants anymore because I have treated my underarm sweating with a new natural method. This method involves using readily available products at home that are applied every morning and night. I also changed my diets to avoid food that will worsen my excess perspiration, and instead choose diets that contain food to reduce sweating.
