Baby Air Purifiers
Publish Date : 9/6/2007 5:05:00 AM   Source : Fitness News Onlypunjab.com

Along with cribs, strollers, and baby walkers, baby air purifiers are becoming a standard item requested by new parents. As pollution, allergies, and asthma increases, more and more parents are becoming concerned with the purity of the air that their baby breathes and want to insure that their babies have the cleanest air possible by placing a baby air purifier in the room.

One of the most common concerns is when the parents already suffer from allergies. Since one or both of the parents have allergies, odds are the baby will too. To ensure that your baby has the best possible chance to avoid problems associated with allergies, first have a good clean-up. If your baby’s room has previously been empty or used for storage, there is a good chance that there is a build up of dust, dirt, and dust mites which are all primary allergens. Empty the room, wash the walls, clean the windows of dust or possible mold, wash any curtains and clean any furniture that will be left in the room. This is the best preparation you can do to give your baby a good start breathing in fresh air.

After you have the room cleaned well and all the furniture and lines washed, the room should be sufficiently cleaned. Now – keep it clean by using a noiseless air purifier. You may even choose an air purifier that makes “white noise” as this can mask noises from the rest of the family and help the baby sleep.

Having an air purifier in the bedroom is especially important. When sleeping, your respiratory system relaxes just as the rest of your body does. A relaxed body cannot handle all of the things it handles when it is fully awake and is more susceptible to allergens. This is why most allergy sufferers have allergy attacks at night. Another tip is to sleep with the bedroom door completely shut so the air in the room stays clean. If you start this practice with a newborn baby and continue it, they will come to think it is normal and a shut bedroom door won't bother them as they get older.

The next step to take to ensure your baby is breathing healthy air is to make sure no one smokes in the house. If the parents smoke, this is a great time to quit and the added incentive of helping your baby will increase your will power to quit smoking. Babies, especially premature ones, have lungs that may not be well developed. Even healthy babies lungs may have weak, underdeveloped muscles and their breathing systems may not be completely developed or operating fully. If you absolutely can't eliminate smoking in the house, invest in a true HEPA unit that has activated carbon that will absorb the smoke and chemicals.

Chemicals are another concern for your baby’s breathing health. Think about when you go to the grocery store. Even if you close your eyes, you know where the cleaning isle is. You know this by the smell. As cleaning products sit, they “out gas.” This means that the chemicals that they are made with are being released into the air. Cleaning products “out gas” in the stores and they “out gas” in your home. The cancer rate for women that stay home full-time is four times higher than women that work outside of the home on a daily basis. Your baby will also be exposed to these chemicals and can possibly can breathing difficulties. Having an air purifier in your home that can clean the chemical fumes (even if you can't smell them) out of your home’s and baby’s room air, is essential for the health of your family.

Your baby’s immune system is directly affected by the air he/she breathes. The air is especially important when your baby is sleeping because this is when their lungs and immune system are resting and getting refreshed. Make sure that your baby has the best start possible by giving him the best and healthiest air possible. Check out the best baby air purifiers on the market that can best benefit your family.
