There are three important things you can try to boost your immune system or to keep it at a certain level.
• Get some rest
Lack of rest and sleep cause you to get influenced easily by some illnesses. If you have sleeping issues, you’d better find out the reason. Check out if the mattress or pillows need to be replaced or if the beddings are not comfortable enough or if it is noisy somewhere out there. Also, consider to lessen your caffeine intake to avoid you from waking up all night. If you are sensitive to caffeine, a cup or two of coffee would be enough to avoid you from getting a good rest.
• Vitamins
Make sure to eat enough vegetables and fruit that can provide you with the vitamins your body needs to boost your immune system. Get three to five portions a day. You can also consume some supplements such as vitamin A, C and B-Complex as well as enough folic acid. Consult your doctor about this vitamin intake to avoid overdosing.
• Garlic
Why garlic? Why not? It contains allicin, a compound with antiviral effects. Allicin destroys, and inhibits various bacteria and fungi, growing in the body. So, it is recommended to consume two raw cloves each day, chopped or crushed to release the compound. You can mix with your cooking at the very last minute so the allicin’s beneficial effects are still preserved. Not only is garlic good for your immune system, but it also is effective in reducing the risk of heart disease, protects the liver from damage induced by pollutants, and helps in the cure of high blood pressure, bladder infection, flu, liver and gallbladder issues.
Since these tips are so simple, never say you cannot do at least one of them.
