This can be defined as being on the fitness yo-yo. You diet and exercise for a few weeks, lose weight, tone up a little, only to eventually become despondent over the whole thing, quite in disgust, and of course, let that old blubber sneak back on. . . did I say sneak back on? No way! It springs back into position like a guitar string, and settles into your midsection as though it should never have left. You know the situation.
So you continue on for a while until something prompts you to start working out again (whether it be a friends remark or your own observation). Your enthusiasm is suddenly invigorated and you psyche yourself up to really making an all-out effort. All seems well - but the dreaded yo-yo sequence is virtually impossible to beat. Soon enough you're back to the drawing board - and depressed again.
Keep in mind that your body is not made for obesity, which is why it is unhealthy. Don't let anyone convince you that it is normal for the body to carry excess fat. Nature designed us to be fit and athletic, purposely to survive in strenuous environments. Excessive eating (especially that of the wrong foods) stores the extra energy as fat, first attacking the midsection covering your abdominals. To prevent layers of fat to sneak up on us, we must eat healthy and exercise. Failure to do so is just a sin against nature.
