Getting your brain in shape is in vogue at the moment and tests have shown that by giving your brain a daily workout it will help sharpen your thought processes. There are many ways you can do this you can use the various brain trainer websites or the latest video game but you don't have to have a video game to train your brain connections you can just do simple arithmetic in your head try counting backwards from 101 in multiples of 2 then count backwards in multiples of 3 then multiples of 4 etc.
Now you are getting your brain back into shape try the rest of your body as well, start by taking gentle walks in the fresh air and build up to longer and more brisk walks over a period of weeks when you find yourself getting a bit fitter its then time to burn it up a small bit more.
When you are walking try alternating five minutes of ordinary pace then a faster pace for five more minutes then back to slow etc. Tests have shown that doing this routine for a few weeks will increase your fitness levels by up to 12 per cent and will double your leg power as apposed to just walking at a normal steady pace.
You will also benefit from the effects of walking in the sunlight which helps your body to naturally produce vitamin D which is good for your bones and helps to reduce your chances of bone fracture and as little as three 20 minute doses of sunlight a week is enough to cut your risk significantly.
Getting enough sleep is very important most people need eight hours sleep any less than eight hours sleep in any given 24 hour period can increase your bad health problems by up to eighty percent.
Another thing that has come to the fore in health matters in the last few years is D.V.T. which stands for deep vein thromboses. Most of us only associate this only with air travel but studies have shown that more people suffer from d.v.t. at their desks in the office than in planes. the key here is to get up from your seat/desk at least every hour for a minute or two and have a good old stretch and move around.
Asthmatics .. should note that fumes given off by air fresheners and cleaning sprays can trigger asthma attacks , so always try to use cleaning wipes instead of sprays.
Other things to do to stay healthy are..
Avoid eyestrain use a bigger font on your PC..
Close the toilet seat before you flush ..
Always try to breath through your nose when you can as your nose is your body's natural air filter..
Cut down on the amount of time you spend with a mobile phone against your head, go hands free ..
Move your printer, Ink particles can lodge deep in your lungs leading to health problems, so move your printer to a well ventilated place to reduce your exposure.
