In addition to contributing to improving NICU care, sponsoring the charity event additionally allows WCU to support many of our graduates and the environment in which they work. The charity event is a black-tie affair complete with gourmet foods and fine wines. More than 800 guests, including business and community leaders, civic officials, physicians and staff of GMHHC, and friends are expected to attend the celebration and participate in the night of music, dancing, and the silent auction. All proceeds go to support GMHHC's NICU.

WCU was originally chartered in 1909 as an ophthalmology school. In the 1950s, WCU became one of the early pioneers to offer Bachelor Degree programs designed to meet the needs of working adults.
