The Exercise Program 'The Brain Muscle Workout' Receives An Award From A US Governor For Its Innovative Exercise Program
Publish Date : 10/22/2007 5:51:00 AM Source : Fitness News Onlypunjab.com
World-renowned fitness expert Michael Gonzalez-Wallace has developed a new exercise technique scientifically proven to reverse the physical and mental signs of aging while improving your fitness level. The program is called the Brain-Muscle Workout and was designed by Gonzalez-Wallace to give his clients the kind of bob 'n' weave agility he mastered playing pro basketball in his native Spain.
The key to Gonzalez-Wallace's program is tied to mental engagement. By continuously teasing the body with balance and coordination challenges, the workout simultaneously stimulates the brain, muscles and nervous system.
Gonzalez-Wallace, who is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, likens his technique to other multi-joint exercises like Tai Chi, but maintains that the Brain-Muscle Workout provides quicker and more dramatic results. In addition, the program aids in preventing the physical and mental effects of the aging process.
The concept is to engage the brain and nervous system by constantly challenging every limb with different movements and tacking on some kind of balance position. The workout, which focuses on the 28 muscles in the core and more than 400 others, progresses through four increasingly difficult phases during a 12-week induction period. As such, it makes your body immune to the plateaus that often impede progress during other fitness programs. Wallace's Brain-Muscle workout is designed to be done at home and does not necessitate any equipment.
The Brain-Muscle Workout is endorsed by some of the world's most respected neurobiologists. John Martin, Professor of Neurobiology at Columbia University, recently offered that, "Gonzalez-Wallace's program challenges balance and coordination within a limb and between limbs. It's easier to read Ian Fleming than James Joyce. He is the James Joyce of exercise."
Gonzalez-Wallace has created three, 30-minute long instructional DVDs that he suggests doing three times a week in addition to two short (20 minute) cardio workouts. With New York's Central Park in the background, the charismatic Gonzalez-Wallace provides viewers with an easy-to-follow and impossible-to-get-bored-of tutorial. DVDs can be purchased on www.thebrainmuscleworkout.com .
