Becky Harrison is one of the most experienced American women guiding in the Himalayas today. She currently spends several months a year outside the US leading trips and researching new programs. Her lifetime of experience in the mountains and extensive high altitude research have led her to build itineraries that vary considerably from the norm, usually with more time for acclimatization and more gradual ascents. As well, she has formed solid bonds with the porters she employees, making sure all have adequate health care, pay and training. She even helped one former client start a non-profit organization that brings dental care to Sherpa villages.
