In another innovative move The Cagewarriors Fighting Championships are pleased to announce that the Master of Ceremonies for Cagewarriors 9: Xtreme Xmas will be none other than Mike Goodall. As many of you will know Mike Goodall is a respected, experienced and professional ring announcer who for 20 years has been gracing top boxing shows, all over the British isles and has introduced to the ring countless stars both domestic (Lennox Lewis, Scott Harrison etc) to visiting international Stars such as Mike Tyson.
Due to his many years in boxing Goodall is a recognisable figure and the TV and mainstream press coverage he has received in the pass will no doubt be an asset for the CWFC as we look to increase our visibility and promotional/television opportunities in 2005, to add to its already impressive 2004 which has seen the innovators of the UK MMA scene use recognisable TV personalities in the past such as Nick Holder and Ben Dover as “Special Guest” MC’s.
However the CWFC feels the time is right to go for a respected and professional ring announcer and have chosen Goodall due to the legitimacy he has earned in the field of boxing. We hope this will result in a better response from fans and critics alike who have grown tired of the antics of other MC’s and interviewers who have been criticised on other shows for their behaviour and in-ring conduct.
The CWFC feel that Goodall is also a great addition to the Cagewarriors family due to his hard work ethic that sees him work over 300 days a year whilst still remaining true to the continued support for boxing (even at Grass Roots level) which we hope he will bring to MMA.
We hope this will be another step in the right direction for Cagewarriors and will add more legitimacy to an organisation that already works on a platform of maintaining and furthering the standing and professionalism of UK MMA in the combat sports industry.
