Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, warring for the last one year, have decided to bury the hatchet!
It happened Wednesday night at the 'sangeet' ceremony for mutual friend Farah Khan's marriage.
The entire industry had turned up for the occasion. The festivities, and of course the dancing, were on full swing. When the deejay played the chartbuster "Bheege hoonth tere" from "Murder", Salman suddenly went up to Shah Rukh and embraced him for a full three minutes. They parted only after the song with tears in their eyes.
Onlookers gasped and cheered. Says a mutual friend, "It was long due, really. How long could they go on with their cold war? So uncalled for and so unrealistic, considering they both have so much feelings for each other."
The Salman-SRK war reached a flash point two years ago when Salman apparently barged on to the sets of Aziz Mirza's "Chalte Chalte" to meet Aishwarya Rai. The two Khans got into a heated exchange that culminated in Rai being fired from the movie and being replaced by Rani Mukherjee.
Prior to this incident Salman and Shah Rukh were so close that the latter even went to Aishwarya Rai's parents with a formal marriage proposal from Salman, an offer that was brusquely turned down.
The new developments can only mean bad news for Ms. Rai. If the two Khans are friends again her hopes of a patch-up with Shah Rukh could recede further.
