UK,Pak pop bands arrive for Indo-Pak Punjab Games

To perform in the First Indo  Pak  Punjab
Games  2004 being held at Patiala the members of pop band  Stereo
Nation  and Pakistan's rock band Junoon arrived India  via  Wagah
land  border on Thursday. Both bands sang the songs of peace  and
unity at Wagah.
 
Ali  Azmat appreciated the measures taken by both governments  of
India  and  Pakistan  especially  in  allowing  the  exchange  of
cultural  troupes. 
He said they were not  like  politicians  but
their job was to sing and bring smiles on the faces of people and
quench  their spiritual thirst for music. Ali gave their  message
of peace by singing yaro yahi dosti hai, kismat se mili hai'.
 
While Taz alias Tarsem Sigh who has his roots in Pathlawa village
in Jalandhar district said that he felt proud being part of India
and the peace process. He said both countries were getting closer
and  building  relations  which  was  a  positive  sign  for  the
world.(ANI)
