UltraDNS Supports Emerging Markets with Network Expansion
Publish Date : 12/6/2004 11:10:00 AM Source : Networking News Onlypunjab.com
UltraDNS Corporation, the world's leading provider of Managed DNS services, today announced the expansion of its global network of DNS nodes into South Africa. This deployment will result in significantly faster performance and higher availability in the African continent for many Top Level Domains (TLDs), including the .info, .org and .uk zones. UltraDNS is committed to enabling Internet communities in developing countries by addressing the need for critical DNS infrastructure services as their adoption of Internet usage continues to grow.
UltraDNS currently provides DNS solutions to 25 generic and country-code TLD's with its industry leading Managed DNS Service. This announcement marks the Company's first deployment on the African continent and will increase the number of its globally managed DNS locations to nine. UltraDNS will continue to expand its network mesh and implement technology solutions that mitigate Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks while strengthening the operation of the global DNS infrastructure.
"UltraDNS will offer the southern African continent highly reliable, rapid, and secure access to Top Level Domain DNS resolution for local constituencies who are becoming increasingly reliant on the Internet," said Rodney Joffe, Chairman and CTO, UltraDNS. "This is part of our planned, global expansion effort to increase the reach and accessibility around the world of the TLD's we serve. We're proud to be enabling this critical effort in a burgeoning market, which has historically been overlooked by other providers."
