After a series of fast-paced albums, Vidyasagar has come up with a melodious surprise in "Chaturangam".
Recent numbers like "Appadi Podu" and "O Podu" from the Tamil musician set theatres ablaze and had the front benches out of their seats and on their feet.
But "Chaturangam" belongs to an entirely different genre.
The first track "Vizhiyum Vizhiyum" is one of the most melodious this year from the Tamil music industry, on a par with some "Rainbow Colony" tracks. "Vizhiyum Vizhiyum" is already a regular feature on radio channels here.
The next track "Aaduvomae" sounds very folk, bringing images of green meadows and grazing goats to your mind. Manicka Vinayagam's rustic voice adds to its charm.
"Ennena Pidikkum", the third track, however comes as a rude shock. The effort at trance music is abrupt and disturbs the melodious trend of the album.
Other tracks in the album are also full of melody, but not as impressive as the first two. Worth a buy!
