The CD features all original Christmas songs, making it one of the first albums containing new and innovative holiday tunes released in years. The two focus tracks, "All I Want For Christmas Is A Soldier Coming Home" and "If I Was An Angel," have met with very positive responses from radio programmers and consultants all over the country.
"The first time I heard the single, ‘All I Want for Christmas Is A Soldier Coming Home,’ I was going to a movie and heard it playing on Movie Tunes," Doris Thompson, president of Stecker-Thompson Associates, a programming consulting firm for Country radio, said. "I though it was a wonderful song and could not be any more perfect for this Christmas season. The lyrics are very timely,"
Radio stations across the United States have already committed to play tracks from the album during the holidays, including markets in Dallas, Atlanta, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, Macon, Mobile, Honolulu and others. Philadelphia’s Mary Mason, host of WHAT-AM 1340’s #2 6 to 10 a.m. broadcast in Philly and the surrounding metro areas, is already opening her show everyday until Christmas with "All I Want For Christmas Is A Soldier Coming Home."
R&R has also reported that "All I Want For Christmas Is a Soldier Coming Home" is #1 in the West, Southwest and the Southeast, as well as #3 in the Midwest and Northeast on the Movie Tunes chart.
The video for "All I Want For Christmas Is a Soldier Coming Home" featured on the bonus DVD has already been picked up by GAC and has been serviced to other stations including VH1 Country and CMT.
Allen, the vocalist and guitarist behind the record’s two most touching songs, "All I Want For Christmas Is a Soldier Coming Home" and "If I Was An Angel," works with country superstar Alan Jackson as a backup vocalist and guitarist. He has also worked with Dolly Parton and Shania Twain. Jerry "Swamp Dogg" Williams brings a wealth of experience to the project, from producing and writing for DMX, Kid Rock, as well as authoring "Don't Take Her She's All I Got" for Johnny Paycheck and Tracy Byrd. Although best known for producing 80s sensation Tiffany, Ned McElroy is a successful songwriter who has had songs recorded by Patty Loveless and various other artists.
