A World of Freedom for the Poet: By Arts Editor Pamela Faye
Publish Date : 11/29/2004 4:15:00 PM Source : Legal News Onlypunjab.com
Indian poet Nikhil Parekh has been awarded yet another honor to add to the endless accolades he has already received for his poetry. The latest award bestowed on this young Bard is ‘Poet of the Month’ from Whisper Poetry. “Life Overrules Death” is just one of the flowing stanzas Nikhil has written, with almost two decades of pose lifting from the pages of forty-eight poetry books, to date.
As controversial as the poem “Aids Doesn’t Kill – Your Attitude Does”, including poetry on Anti Terrorism and Global Peace, Nikhil Parekh delivers timely messages through flowing verse. The poet speaks for future generations, “Please Save the Planet”. Nikhil’s love of the environment spans flora and fauna, through rolling valleys and mountains of precious new growth.
Sweeping up beliefs in stanzas, thunder rolls from the heavens with the delivering verse, “After the Devil there is God”. The poet Nikhil Parekh speaks without hesitation, of injustice and social issues facing modern day societies. This unique voice recites from passionate breath, “Anystage, Anyplace, Anytime”.
When asked about his life as a poet, Nikhil Parekh offers, ‘Poetry is the Reason I live’. The Indian poet not only talks about hard-hitting social issues but also speaks from the softness of heart “Life is a Lovebird” through love poems. Nikhil’s collection of poetry is as immense as star constellations shooting reflection of light through the vastness of the universe.
The Indian poet draws meaning from words found only in the depth of dictionaries, these are the wildflowers emerging to open the sweet scent of blooms from arid lands now showered by refreshing rains. The fragrance of Nikhil’s poetry lingers in the memory long after it has been absorbed.
Nikhil Parekh’s life’s dream is to write poetry. The bard’s voice speaks out from a sacred awareness of life, love, and the need for honor and respect in the 21st Century. The poet calls for a “United Human Kind” across the globe, while tears flow with “A Tribute to America - My Heart Cries”. There are so few modern day poets who combine so many of the realities of life, through rolling verse.
Laughter flows as lyrical verse from the Indian poet; music sings the poet’s song. This is the rhythm of beating hearts. Nikhil speaks through lyrics, “A Child Smiles, for only in a world of freedom can a child unfold and bloom”. From the reflections of rainbows, words flow into a gathering pot of gold for the Bard.
Nikhil’s list of accomplishments include writing the longest poem ever written; “Only as Life” is an extraordinary one thousand four hundred and seventy lines, unique in the pure poetry fraternity of English language. For the poet it is hoped that the Guinness Book of World Records will one day recognize this achievement. Folletts Books distribute “Only as Life” to libraries around the world while CaféPress America, Sunnysideup Publishing, and Lulu Enterprises Inc. are just a few of the outlets available for Nikhil Parekh’s poetry books.
For this young Indian poet the road ahead may well be paved in gold. The biography of Nikhil Parekh can be found on the poet’s website http://www.nikhilparekh.com or on AuthorsDen http://www.authorsden.com/nikhilparekh.
