Publish Date : 12/4/2004 10:45:00 AM Source : Business News Onlypunjab.com
Aames Investment Corporation (NYSE:AIC), a mortgage real estate investment trust, announced the closing of the securitization and related offering by Aames Mortgage Investment Trust 2004-1 of approximately $1.18 billion of notes backed by non-conforming mortgage loans transferred to the trust in the securitization, which occurred December 3, 2004. The securitization lead managers were Lehman Brothers Inc. and Morgan Stanley & Co., Incorporated, and co-managers were Citigroup Global Markets, Inc., Countrywide Securities Corporation, Greenwich Capital Markets, Inc., Credit Suisse First Boston LLC and Friedman Billings Ramsey & Co, Inc.
The notes are characterized as debt for both tax and financial reporting purposes and represent obligations of Aames Mortgage Trust 2004-1, a Delaware statutory trust. The assets of the trust included two groups of mortgage loans secured by one-to-four family residential mortgages. The notes do not represent a direct financial obligation of Aames Investment but will be consolidated onto Aames Investment's consolidated financial statements under generally accepted accounting principles.
