The Biryani Merchant Announces the Winners of Super Kohinoor

The Celebrities who attended the Festival included Mr.Girish Karnad, Mr Naseeruddin Shah, Ms Ratna Pathak Shah among others. The success of the campaign has urged the organizers to announce another couple of festivals in the coming weeks.
A total of 20 Winners were selected thru a lucky draw and the Winner of the Bumper Prize is Mr. K B Unni of Mphasis.

The Biryani Merchant is a specialty restaurant in Downtown Bangalore which is about 9 months old and serves only specialty Biryani from different parts of the world. The Restaurant serves over 40 varieties of Biryani, with the menu changing everyday. The restaurant is promoted by Epicurean Entrepreneurs P Ltd, which was promoted by Vishy Shenoy, who is a Biryani Chronicler and is currently writing a book on Biryani & Abhik Biswas an IT Professional. The Company recently announced its plans to enter the virgin Non Vegetarian RTE market and picked up private equity investments from a group of investors led by Arun Alagappan of the Murugappa group, N P Prakash an ad film Producer, Charles Statman an international Tech investor. The back end is headed by Chef Shyam Ithikkat, an IHM Madras alumni of the class of 1991.

In order to expand the horizons of the Biryani, the company has also launched Kiosks- The Biryaniwala in different parts of Bangalore. The first one in a residential/office area Koramangala, the second one in Bannerghatta Road and the third one in up market residential area- Indiranagar. The Company hopes to open another 10 outlets in Bangalore in the next 6-9 months
