Digitech, a leader in the development and application of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) software and billing services, has been awarded a contract for billing and collections by the EMS division of Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, a Brooklyn-based member of the New York Presbyterian Health Care System. Wyckoff has adopted Digitech’s unique ASP billing service model that enables the hospital to have real-time access to its billing data and financial reports through a secured Internet connection.
Under a one-year agreement, Digitech will assume responsibility for all of the hospital’s ambulance transport functions including billing, cash posting, collections, and customer service. Wyckoff has adopted Digitech’s EMS Software Solution and ASP billing service model, enabling the hospital to enter call data into Digitech’s proprietary software Ambulance Commander®, an integrated call taking and billing application specifically designed for emergency and non-emergency transports.

With the reimbursement dollar shrinking, escalating health care costs, and rising complexities in billing (compliance issues, HIPPA, etc.), the need for service providers to get paid quicker has become more critical. The streamlined billing process will reduce data collection time and costs and improve cash flow for Wyckoff’s EMS division.
