As vice president of the Center for the Advancement of Patient Safety at the United States Pharmacopeia, Diane Cousins focuses on patient safety issues related to medication errors. In this position, she developed the USP Practitioners' Reporting Network into four nationwide reporting programs that focus on the quality, efficacy, and safety of over-the-counter and prescription drugs used in human and veterinary medicine. Under her direction, reporting programs have become a significant component of the USP's standards-setting processes.
