High Speed Kart Racing to Debut on Long Island in 2005 with 100,000 Sq. Ft. Facility
F1 Boston announced today plans to open two 100,000 square foot plus combination indoor kart racing, conference and entertainment centers in the New York Metropolitan area. On November 13, 2004 the company will officially roll out its 25 million dollar plans and schedule for the development of two properties, the first in Melville, New York and the second at the Xanadu Entertainment Complex at the Meadowlands in New Jersey. This announcement will take part during the Sports Car Club of America’s Regional meeting taking place at the Long Island Marriott Hotel in Uniondale, New York. Demonstrations of the German made high-speed indoor and outdoor karts will take place from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in the parking fields adjacent to the Marriott at the Nassau Coliseum.
“We have been interested in expansion into the New York market for some time and we are pleased that we have been able to secure two quality properties. We are able to make this announcement in large part due to the support we have received by the Town of Huntington. Our first location will open on Spagnoli Road in Melville this summer,” said Richard “RJ” Valentine, the founder of F1 Boston. “Our Long Island and New Jersey locations have been designed by professionals to appeal to both corporate and non-corporate clients. We want to give everyone, no-matter the skill level, a memorable and exciting experience.”
F1 Boston’s Long Island location is scheduled to open in 2005 and will be the New York metropolitan area’s first European style indoor kart racing, entertainment and conference center. The New Jersey operation is scheduled to open in 2007 at the Meadowlands Xanadu Entertainment Complex.
Both facilities will cater to advanced and amateur racers and will provide a wide array of services including complete state-of-the-art executive conference centers, event space, meeting rooms and ball rooms capable of hosting large corporate events, personal family celebrations, private parties, fundraisers and trade shows. F1’s experienced staff will also provide specialized motivational and corporate team building programs. In addition, adult and junior racing leagues will be formed, racing schools will be offered and amateur and professional competitions will be held each year at both locations.
First introduced in Europe more than 15 years ago, indoor kart racing is an experience for those who live for a challenge. F1 style karts bring the intensity and excitement of racing to a whole new level. Licensed drivers 18 years of age and over, 21 and over after 8:00 pm, will race in German designed and manufactured karts on a choice of two precisely engineered tracks built with the input of professional drivers. These gas-powered vehicles accelerate rapidly and travel at speeds in excess of 45 miles per hour. The tracks and karts are scaled to guarantee a real racing experience.
“But be forewarned: this is real racing,” says RJ Valentine. “Tight turns, high tech timing system, stiff competition. You'll need split-second calculation and a daring attitude. You'll use instincts long buried and quick responses you didn't know you had. You'll experience a thrill unlike any you've ever known.”
With its state-of-the-art exhibition and conference facilities, full-service restaurants, classic billiards parlor, shops, lounges and, of course, racing, F1’s venues appeal to adults of all ages. Guest of F1 range couples looking for a special evening to personal/group celebrations to the most successful and memorable corporate and organizational events.
