Bangladesh border guards on Friday arrested
five Indian Naga separatists from north-eastern Phultala frontier
and recovered arms and electronic devices from their possessions.
Police said quoting Bangladesh Rifles officials that the members
of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland, a separatist
organisation of India, were detained from a bordering village.
The arrested are identified as Thaike, Winner, Ninhu, Uthroi and
Nitbi. All of them came from Nagaland in India.
They have been handed over to Kulaura police station.
Police said the arms, ammunition and electronic devices recovered
from the separatists' possessions include one revolver, one
pistol, two hand grenades, seven bullet-filled magazines, two
radio-link sets, one city-solar panel board, one walkie-talkie
and one type-writer machine.
The detainees confessed to police that they are the members of
National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN). They were being
interrogated in police custody.(ANI)
