With a simple turn of the display the ultra portable LIFEBOOK T4010 can be transformed into a tablet PC and offers pen-enabled functionality in all modes.
Announcing the revolutionary notebook in Dubai, Susanne Lewitzki, Product Marketing Manager, MENA, Fujitsu Siemens Computers, described it as a 'no-limits' laptop, with features like high performance, long working hours away from power sources, modular bay concept, and wireless communication through wireless LAN and Bluetooth technology.
'The LIFEBOOK T4010 is the smallest and lightest 12-inch convertible notebook with real usage opportunity as a tablet PC,' said Lewitzki. 'It redefines the concept of a notebook. While in standard mode, it is a full-feature powerful notebook with high-end modular bay system and at low weight, it can be transformed into a Tablet PC just by flipping the screen over. In short, the new notebook marks new advancements in mobility, reliability, security and ergonomics.'
The ultra-portable LIFEBOOK T4010 allows meetings to be held virtually anywhere. The Microsoft Windows Tablet PC Edition 2005 operating system eliminates the labour-intensive handling of notes and minutes, as the handwriting recognition program simply converts these into normal word processor text. Further, with a second battery, it can operate without recharging for up to 8.5 hours. Innovative screen technology gives the T4010 an extra-wide viewing angle, allowing several persons to follow the proceedings.
'The new T Series notebook will be a great companion to a mobile professional,' added Lewitzki. 'It saves on rework time and eliminates paper. You can illustrate our ideas directly on the tablet and distribute it via email. With the T4010, all limitations of a plain notebook have been eliminated.'
Equipped with Intel® Centrino® Mobile Technology and, depending on the model, either a 1.6 or 1.8 GHz Intel Pentium® M Processor with 2MB second-level cache, the LIFEBOOK T4010 delivers top performance, wireless mobility and long battery life. Thanks to integrated Bluetooth, wireless LAN, FireWire, USB 2.0, IrDA, modem and SD/memory stick slot, the possibilities when connecting peripheral devices or exchanging data are practically boundless. Furthermore, a second hard drive or an optical drive (like a DVD burner) can be incorporated in place of the second battery for more flexibility.
The LIFEBOOK T4010 provides a convincing security concept. The integrated SmartCard Reader and antivirus software protects business critical data. In addition, the Security Panel allows the user to set the level of security required right at the hardware level.
