Strong with 15 years of giclee printing experience, we opened the doors of our company, Allpconline.com, Inc, in April of 2004. Without any clients, our customer base has grown to the point that the studio is looking to expand by the end of the year.
The reasons for the rapid growth are many. To speak of a few, attention to detail, strict standards, a true understanding of clients' needs, on time delivery and low prices.
Giclee printing has greatly improved the outlook of any artist wanting to go beyond the sale of an original. In the past lithography and traditional printing methods were used if the artist wanted to market reproductions of original artwork. While effective, these methods had serious drawbacks. First and foremost, the cost of preparation to go to press was prohibitive. Second, the quality of 4 color copies limited the tonal rendition of such reproductions. Also, the choice of substrates was dismal compared to giclee.
The advent of high-end digital printmaking has opened a new world for artists: more paper choices, better color, limited on-demand production.
On a pure marketing standpoint, artists who have shows and lectures can now suggest giclees to potential buyers. Collectors in particular want to buy art that is not made in mass quantities. When buying a LE giclee they are assured to possess something rare and exquisite.
Giclees are well established in the art world; they are bought and sold in auctions as well as in galleries. Many museums display giclees.
The benefits are obvious: increased income and more exposure. Because of the variety of media available for printing, an oil painter can reproduce on the same type of canvas. The artist can even go a step further and enhance the giclee with brush strokes, creating a unique piece.
The client involvement with the production is strictly a matter of making sure the proof matches the original in color and brightness/contrast. We will make as many proofs as it takes to achieve the results. On average, the artist approves the first proof sent, as internal rounds are made until our printmaker is satisfied with the results.
Allpconline does not charge setup fees except when scanning is ordered. Color corrections, proofing are included in the pricing tables.
