These include making institutional and bank financing accessible to the sector, permitting 100 percent foreign direct investment and promoting the industry globally through special events and film festivals, Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Culture S. Jaipal Reddy said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha Thursday.

The government was also exploring co-production agreements with other countries and simplifying the flow of venture capital in the sector, as well as considering reduction in entertainment tax, steps to counter piracy and measures to facilitate the shooting of foreign films in India, Reddy said.
