nternet Merchandising Systems Inc. (IMS) today announced major enhancements to its hotel reservation and tour booking software, IMS Voyager and IMS Tour Desk.
Designed specifically for hotels and tour companies, V 2.5 enables users to manage online bookings and multi-level rates distribution to all market segments including Internet users, travel agents and corporate clients.
New in IMS Voyager and IMS Tour Desk V 2.5 are such features as an ‘Option Generator’ that reduces time spent on managing inventory and setting up options. Users are able to create "Options" which can be assigned to either hotels/categories or rooms/tours. As an extension to the many existing options, it allows users to dynamically create further options such as text fields and select boxes and assign them prices, then assign those to rooms/tours or categories or by hotel and have them customer selectable.
Customers are able to check available inventory, select those options and complete a booking online making the reservation process more efficient and less time consuming to both parties.
Other new features are included, such as; minimum number of days for room booking; choice of drop down menu or standard list to display hotel rooms or tours; currency converter; option to have ‘Customer Service Agents’ booking for telephone customers, and many more.
"As businesses look to differentiate themselves on the Web in order to attract more customers and thus higher conversions, IMS Voyager and IMS Tour Desk dramatically improve the end users Internet experience and facilitate bookings," said John Shenton, President IMS. "The combination of our software integrated within a customer’s website allows the customer to achieve the full benefits of taking reservations online.”
By allowing access to "last minute" rates to travel agents, corporate clients and Internet users, companies are able to maximize yield and reduce the possibility of unsold room-nights or tours, users may adjust rates as often as required to conform to seasonal demand and prevailing markets. IMS Voyager helps clients quickly modify and distribute rates to a large numbers of Internet users, plus their selected travel agents and corporate clients.
“Our customers recognize that they can differentiate their business performance by improving the capability of their website to take online reservations from many different sources. The new version we are announcing today enhances that capability by making multi-level pricing significantly easier and dramatically increase the hotel’s capacity to also handle travel agents and/or corporate clients,” said Jean-Pierre Bouchard, Vice President, IMS.
The software includes many features and capabilities to promote and grab attention such as: travel agent Booking, corporate booking, wholesaler booking, package booking, integrated newsletter & email engine, integrated affiliate program, integrated gift shop (IMScart ecommerce), P2P (Product to Product) up-sell display linking and merchandising plus a powerful coupon discount module.
