Details of an Iran-European Union agreement on freezing Tehran's nuclear programme would be revealed
later this month, a top official said Tuesday.
The details would be revealed at the meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) board of governors, Hassan Rowhani, Iran's chief negotiator at the talks, said while addressing the Majlis or parliament, Mehr news agency reported.
Iran's parliamentarians would be properly briefed on the agreement that was finalised in Paris Monday, said Rohwani, who is the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC).
According to the agreement, the EU will assist Iran in the campaign against terrorism and in efforts to establish peace and security in Iraq, Rowhani added.
In return, Iran had agreed to suspend its uranium enrichment activities for as long as negotiations on a permanent solution to the issue continued, he said.
Rowhani also announced that Iran-EU joint groups would be established to study regional security and nuclear technology issues.
He said the EU had agreed to make efforts to remove Iran's nuclear dossier from the agenda of the IAEA board and this was why Tehran had agreed to continue negotiations.
Rowhani said EU officials had asked Iran to provide assurances that it had no plans to produce nuclear weapons, saying that in return the EU would guarantee that economic, industrial, and security agreements between the two sides would be implemented.
