Accessible from a new “Games” tab on the kibop.com website, the new section gives members free access, in their own language, to the most popular games from major publishers like Popcap, Gamehouse, and Arkadium. While on the site, Kibop members can play online casual games with their friends, or get trial versions of top downloadable games.
"Kibop members asked us to keep adding new, fun features to the site," said Kibop CEO Daniele Levy. "With our new games section, members around the world can have fun while using the language they prefer."
Featured games are currently available in a variety of genres, including action, card, strategy, and word games. More games will be added as publishers release new titles. Kibop also says that Portuguese games are coming soon, pending agreements with local publishers.
According to research firm IDC, the market for casual web games will grow to nearly $720 million in the next three years in the United States alone. A 2004 survey conducted by AOL reports that players are mostly females who spend 46% of their time on the Internet playing web games.
