The Marion Institute today announced an upcoming Biological Medicine conference, lead by Dr. Thomas Rau, MD., which will draw attention to alternative approaches to the treatment of degenerative diseases – such as arthritis – without the need for nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID). In recent weeks, popular NSAIDs have been pulled from the market after trials showed that long-term use of the drugs may double the risk of heart attacks and strokes among patients with heart disease.
“Rather than treating particular symptoms, Biological Medicine looks for the ‘root causes’ of those symptoms,” said Dr. Rau, Rheumatologist and Medical Director of the world-famous Paracelsus Klinik, in Lustmühle, Switzerland.
