(MRI), its wholly owned subsidiary, has defeased the $600 million Series 2000-1 asset-backed securitization from the Metris Master Trust. Series 2000-1 was scheduled to mature in February 2005. The defeasance was accomplished by using a combination of approximately $240 million in cash and approximately $360 million from MRI's two-year conduit facility. The remaining proceeds from the Series 2004-2 prefunded account have been released to MRI.
