MindTree Consulting, a Bangalore-based international IT and research services company, will set up a $100-million development centre in Hyderabad.
"Over the next five years we will have 2000 people working at the Hyderabad center," MindTree's Chairman and managing director Ashok Soota told reporters after a meeting with Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
The company which already has 17 employees here in its IT and research and development services will add 250 more by March next and double them in 12 months.
Stating the company would need 15 acres of land for its permanent facility, he said for now it would work out of rented facilities.
"Strength of Hyderabad lies in the fact that its has skilled manned power both in the IT services as well as the research and development services. There are only five or six such centres in the country," Soota said.
He expressed the confidence that the growth of the Hyderabad centre would match the company's over all growth of 60 percent per annum.
S. Jankiraman, head of the research services of the company, said the development centre would have as clients high profile companies in IT and telecommunications including Micrsofot, Alcatel, Motorola.
