Beachcombers can now savor European-style meats, patés and homemade soups and quiches at the new Gower St. Bistro, adjacent to the renovated Cannon Beach Hotel. The bistro, designed by Portland’s leading restaurant design firm, KL Design Group, offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails, and a delicatessen-style take out counter.
European Cuisine with a Northwest Twist:
Menu items tout ingredients sourced in the Pacific Northwest like the Caramelized Walla Walla onion and Rogue River blue cheese tart or the signature dish, the Gower St. Meatloaf with Painted Hills all natural beef. Comfort food items like Macaroni and Cheese and a bucket of Beer-Braised Peel and Eat Shrimp mingle with Apricot Stuffed Pork Chops and a Charcuterie Plate piled with imported and house made fine meats. The deli case features take-out fare with everything from lamb sausage to truffled chevre and even slices of German chocolate cake.
Bistro Design by the Beach:
Gower St. Bistro sits a block from Haystack Rock, one of the Oregon Coast’s most visible and visited landmarks. Sharing space with the newly renovated Cannon Beach Hotel, Gower St. Bistro offers French-inspired charm with butcher-paper-covered tables, a wooden top bar, and pressed-tin ceiling. An open kitchen adds a casual feel and the outdoor patio seating invites guests to linger. “We designed the Bistro to be accessible to families in flip-flops and hotel guests craving a romantic evening cocktail and meal,” says owner and designer, Kyle Lynch. “Oregon’s seaside towns are informal, but visitors and locals appreciate quality food and design.”
