Jacqueline Yohe, "The Mother Rapper", a resident of Raytown, MO, recently earned recognition as the Poet of the Month by Poetry Wednesbury, a writers' organization based in West Bromwich, UK, for her poem, "Soul on Soles", saying, "With her delicate interplay of homophone and redolence, in both English and French versions, Jacqueline has produced a clear winner." The website featured the poem in both English and French versions.
Yohe was surprised by this recognition. She said she sent her poem for the competition at the last minute, not really expecting that anything would come of it. But, she added, "You just know when you have a winner. I've been planning to produce a musical version of 'Soul on Soles' in the near future.
Yohe did have a musical version of this literary work produced, and has now garnered a Song Publishing Agreement with Paramount Music Group of Nashville, TN, for her musical composition of "Soul on Soles."
Yohe is a composer of music including rap, country western, big band, jazz, and introduction to classical music for children. She is also an actress, singer, poet, author, cartoon and sketch artist, and world traveler. She performns locally at different venues as a storyteller, author, and vocalist. Yohe has published a number of poems, singles and CDs and a book, "Spirit Led and Free To Be". She sells them both locally and on the internet at http://www.jyohe.com .
In the very near future, Yohe, hopes to find a publisher or investor to introduce a complete product line based on two of her Christmas stories: "The Little Drummer Girl" and "The Little Lamb of Bethlehem", which are also available as musical compositions.
Yohe ... a star on the horizon!
