The Port of Los Angeles today formally tendered a relocation and long-term land lease offer to Anaheim, Calif.-based Ports O' Call Restaurant Corp., owner of the Ports O' Call Restaurant on the San Pedro waterfront.
The Port extended the offer in hopes of retaining the restaurant as a long-term Port tenant within the Port's "From Bridge to Breakwater" waterfront development. The current location of the restaurant is in an area earmarked for redevelopment. Port plans call for redeveloping the entire 8+ mile San Pedro Waterfront.
"Instead of trying to work around the existing restaurant location, which is centered in an area that will be fully redeveloped in the years ahead, we have extended an offer to relocate this restaurant tenant to another waterfront location, selected by the Port at a future date," said Port Interim Executive Director Bruce Seaton. "We're offering them an equitable 30-year lease on that future property, with a comparable footprint to their existing operation, in a development that's destined to be one of the largest and most vibrant public waterfronts in the world."
During the period of site selection and construction of the new restaurant, Ports O' Call Restaurant will continue to operate at its present location, on a month-to-month lease, until the new location is ready to open.
