Qatar Airways, one of the fastest growing airlines, has increased its flights from Hyderabad to Doha by three times.
From Nov 1 the airline increased its operations from three flights to 12 flights a week, R. Bharathan, the airline's district sales manager, told a news conference Monday.
He said that Hyderabad now had seven departures in the morning and five in the evening. The evening flights offered passengers greater connectivity to Europe.
Qatar Airways, which is operating Airbus A320 aircraft into Hyderabad, said it carried 11,000 passengers on the Hyderabad-Doha routes from April to October 2004.
The airline had started operations in Hyderabad in 2002 with three flights a week.
Bharathan said Qatar Airways, which presently operated flights to Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram, planned to connect some more destinations. "Chennai, New Delhi and Bangalore are on our priority," he said.
He said London was highest yielding sector followed by Manchester and Zurich. Many Telugu film units travelled by Qatar Airlines to Doha to reach Zurich for film shootings.
