Robbins Eye Center Establishes National Reputations

Robbins Eye Center has enhanced its leadership position with the acquisition and implementation of these leading-edge technologies over the past year:
- First facility in Connecticut to use the Endoscopic CycloPhotocoagulation (ECP) laser to treat glaucoma. The breakthrough ECP laser can slow down or stop the progress of glaucoma and reduce or eliminate the use of medicated drops in 95% of cases.

- First facility in New England authorized by the FDA to perform the revolutionary CrystalensTM procedure. Dr. Robbins is one of a handful of surgeons nationwide implanting the Crystalens, which that has the unique ability to focus on objects at varying distances using the eye’s natural muscle. The ability to provide patients with clear vision at all distances is a significant technological breakthrough.

- First facility in Connecticut to acquire the next-generation ALLEGRETTO WAVE™ Laser system to perform WaveFront-Optimized LASIK procedures. It is the fastest and the safest laser available today, using state-of-the-art WaveFront-Optimized technology to treat each patient’s individual refraction and unique corneal curvature. ALLEGRETTO WAVE is approved to treat the widest range of patients, including those with high myopia and hyperopia.

Dr. Kim P. Robbins has been honored as one of the top ophthalmologists in America. She is a board-certified ophthalmologist and among the most experienced eye surgeons in the New York Metropolitan area. Dr. Robbins earned her medical degree from the New York Medical College and completed her residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City. She has served as a member of the board and advisor and medical director for various national and Connecticut organizations.
