StoneWall Society Network founder Len Rogers announced the official opening of the GLBT / Queer Hall Of Fame. The Hall for this time will be located at http://www.glbthalloffame.com. Future goals include a permanent physical location for the GLBT / Queer Hall Of Fame and or a traveling exhibit. The stated mission: "To create and maintain a perpetual source and location dedicated to accessibly recognize and honor members and friends of the GLBT / Queer community who have made outstanding and positive impact. Not only and necessarily in the GLBT / Queer community but in the world community of all. Our goal is to represent all areas of community, local and international in the areas of; art, music, education, leadership, theatre, science, sports, literature, activism, community, philanthropy, equality, and community support."

According to GLBT / Queer Hall Of Fame and StoneWall Society Network founder, Len Rogers, "The 2004 U.S. election outcome and worldwide pressure by various religious groups to undermine GLBT Equality has created a feeling of despair and depression within the GLBT community. We hope the GLBT / Queer Hall Of Fame can act as a means to instill pride and conviction. The concept is a personal long time dream, and I can think of no better time to realize this for community and those recognized. Seeing our heroes, getting to know them, I hope will bring a sense of pride and action to an emotionally damaged GLBT community."
The GLBT / Queer Hall Of Fame is a community based program designed to recognize and honor members and friends of the GLBT / Queer community who through direct effort and action have made an outstanding impact on the GLBT / Queer community and/or the worldwide community. It is our belief that pride starts with knowledge. Therefore we hope to strengthen the GLBT / Queer community sense of pride while paying respect to and acknowledging the GLBT / Queer history and worldwide contributions. The concept originated from countless inquiries at StoneWall Society http://www.stonewallsociety.com on subject matters of GLBT / Queer history and community members.

The first Induction of Members will be held December 22, 2004 and presented live on Rainbow World Radio. At present there are fifty-four Standing Inductees for the December induction and fifty-eight Nominees for membership. Contact and notification to available Standing Inductees and Nominees is ongoing and should be completed by mid December.
