Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Nasdaq:TEVA) announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted tentative approval for the Company's ANDA for Fosphenytoin Sodium Injection USP, 50 mg PE/mL (PE = phenytoin sodium equivalents). Final approval is expected upon patent expiry on August 5, 2007.

Teva's Fosphenytoin Sodium Injection is the AP-rated generic equivalent of Pfizer's anticonvulsant Cerebyx(R) Injection.

The brand product has annual sales of approximately $62 million.
