UK Muslim Emergency London Seminar To Denounce Savage

Over a thousand Muslims will attend a seminar in London this Sunday [21st November 2004 to denounce the savage massacre being perpetrated against the Muslims of Fallujah by western militant democracies and their latest footstool, Iyad Allawi. The seminar has been organised by the global Islamic political party, Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain, in conjunction with the Muslim community. Over a thousand delegates will hear speeches urging them to raise their voices against the Fallujah massacre, the occupation of Iraq and the rulers of the Muslim world who have blindly submitted to the Anglo-American colonial designs and butchery of Iraq’s Muslims.

Dr Imran Waheed, the Representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Britain, said, "Had Fallujah been any European city the world would have immediately cried genocide and moved to halt the massacre. Instead, we find western thinkers and politicians, who are ardent practitioners of human rights and international law, silent at the brutal slaughter of civilians. By labelling legitimate resistance to occupation as anti-Iraq and terrorist, western governments are selling their people a lie. By the same standard the West should not regard George Washington as a father of American democracy but as a terrorist and anti-American."

"At this time, Muslims in Britain must be the voice of the Muslims of Fallujah against this brutal massacre and the silence of the spineless rulers of the Muslim world. Muslims in Britain call upon the people of the West to question the militancy of western democracies and the continued use of 'Imperial law' to justify endless interference in the Muslim world to safeguard the interest of multinational terrorists."

Topics for discussion at the seminar include the motives behind the Fallujah assault, the responsibility of Muslims in Britain towards Iraq’s Muslims and the contribution that Muslims in Britain can make to changing the Muslim world.

The seminar will take place on Sunday November 21st 2004 at 12.30 p.m. at The Royal National Hotel, Bedford Way, London, WC1H 0DG (Nearest tube: Russell Square).

The three talks at the seminar are entitled "Fallujah: Terminology and Terrorism – how words aid colonialism", "Subverting Islam – What is really behind the war on terror?" and "Iraqi Elections ’05 – Another puppet government in the Muslim world".

Hizb ut-Tahrir is an independent Islamic political party. The party works throughout the Islamic world to resume the Islamic way of life by re-establishing the Islamic Khilafah [Caliphate. The party adheres to Islamic law in all aspects of its work and considers violence or armed struggle against the regime, as a method to re-establish the Islamic State, to be forbidden by Islamic law. In the Western world, the party seeks to explain the Islamic ideology to Muslims, to create a dialogue with Western thinkers and to present a positive image of Islam to Western society.
