"The Iron Route" -- A Unique Equestrian Project Sponsored by Andbanc to Promote the Natural Beauty of Andorra

The "Farga Rossell", former Catalonian forge that was working to full yield until end of the XIXth century, will receive the 30 participants that have taken part in this first equestrian experience in the Pyrenees. Italian, Frenchmen, Spanish and Andorrans compose the varied set of riders who have accepted the offer presented by the Andorran Equestrian Federation and the Committee of Equestrian Tourism of the Haute Garone. Thanks to the help of the Haute Garone Regional Council and Andbanc, the first independent bank of Andorra ((http: // www.andbanc.com) through its social institution Socialandbanc, entity that has directed and managed all the aspects of cooperation and aid to civil entities.
Both of these entities are members of Arco Mediterráneo del Turismo Ecuestre (AMEDITE - Mediterranean Arch of Equestrian Tourism) have been able to take the first steps in this most ambitious project to create a vertebra of different equestrian circuits in the Mediterranean Countries, such as Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and Andorra.
If in this occasion the topic chosen for the equestrian circuit is the iron -- the circuit follows the route of the mines and charcoal-bins, recovering the mule caravans to reach the forges and the blacksmiths; the following circuit will take us through the Romanesque art of the Cerdaña, the Roussillon and Andorra.
