It was of no interest to developers for years but is now the site of the gigantic Acapulco Diamante resort and residential development. And last but not the least, is the spectacular Acapulco Bay with mountain-framed natural harbor that competes with Hong Kong and the Rio de Janeiro for natural exquisiteness. A main road descends from the steep cliffs of the bay’s southern end that becomes the coastal Avenida Miguel Alemán or known as the Costera. This area is the center of Acapulco’s resort strip and dwelling to almost all of Acapulco’s high-rise hotels, dining, shopping, and non-stop nightlife. The Costera goes on further to the north along the bay toward Old Acapulco and the antique but partially renovated downtown area.

Acapulco Mexico is the loudest, largest and most lively city in Mexico, thanks to its dazzling bars, discos, clubs, and “Las Vegas-Mexican Style” atmosphere, minus the gambling.
