An Ohio-based pet sitting service by the name of Pet Pampering has just launched its new Web site, www.petpampering.net, as a way to provide animal lovers with information on kennel alternatives and unique gift ideas for dogs & cats. The Web site has only been online for a few shorts weeks but has already had many visitors and added a new section on pet humor, numerous informative articles, a pet photo contest and additional pet products.
"We originally created the site so people with pets who were thinking of taking a vacation could read about kennel alternatives," said Sue Huss, who founded Pet Pampering in 2004. "Many people who want to go somewhere think that leaving pets at kennels or with relatives are the only choices they have. Many of them have never heard of professional pet sitters. We hoped that after reading our customer's testimonials and seeing some of the many diversified pets we have cared for this would open up new possibilities for them. Finally they could take that weekend getaway and not feel guilty about leaving their pets."
Pet Pampering offers the unique option of in-home care for pets in the form of overnight stays or providing the pet owner with three or more visits to their home a day. On visits, Pet Pampering can also bring in the owner’s mail, turn on and off lights to make it appear as if someone is there, water plants and anything else they might need done. In addition, Pet Pampering also offers pet owners the option to "board" dogs at a Pet Pampering home instead.
Owner Sue Huss says when small dogs stay with her they become part of her canine family. They can go out and come in whenever they want. Her large fenced-in yard provides plenty of room to play and explore. When inside there are no cages or pens and pets are free to roam the house as if they were home. Pets staying with her have the company of her three Pomeranians so they will not be bored.
She only boards one family's pet(s) at a time, so there is no need to worry about a dog having to deal with other strangers’ pets. For larger dogs like golden retrievers that need more attention then they would get if they were in a kennel or stayed home, they could stay with Sue's new partner Diane Sharlow. There they will have the company of Diane’s German shepherd who very much looks forward to their company.
"This new concept in pet care is the answer to many people concerns on what to do with their dog when they go away," Sharlow said. "Many of our customers have not gone anywhere for several years for fear of leaving their pets in a kennel or having to ask a relative to care for them."
With the busy summer vacation season over Pet Pampering has also decided to start up a doggie day care for small dogs available one day a week in which dogs can experience the opportunity to play and interact with other small dogs. Just like human children this is a learned skill and can be extremely beneficial to the development of a dog’s personality and self esteem. It's also very affordable at $10 a day. Many dogs have only been around people since they were adopted by their owners and never get the opportunity to play and benefit from this experience.
Pet Pampering also offers a number of unique pampered products for animals such as heated beds, cooling vests and nutritious gourmet treats. To see a complete list of these visit the Web site at www.petpampering.net.
