London's Zetter is Best Small Hotel at the Visit London Awards 2006

The Visit London Awards showcase the best London offers in entertainment, restaurants and hotels. Surpassing 5 excellent hotels in the same category, the Zetter Hotel was elected Best Small Hotel for its style, comfort and eccentricity as well as for its effective environmental credentials. "The Zetter is innovative, creative and different," says Visit London's Chief Executive, James Bidwell, "Close community engagement, great design and architecture, and an ethos which revolves around its customers, mark this hotel out from the crowd. A fitting and deserving Visit London award winner for 2006."
Opened in spring 2004, the Zetter Hotel of Clerkenwell Road was immediately included in Conde Nast Traveller's Hot list of 50 coolest hotels in the world and earned the European Hotel Design award for Best New Hotel & Best Design. The spiral staircase and lobby of this boutique hotel lifts lead up into the dramatic five-storey atrium accessing to 59 bedrooms. Many of the building's original 19th-century features were kept, while using local young designers and artists to create a contemporary impression with wallpaper panels, artwork, ceramics and furniture.

Guests can snuggle up with duck-down pillows and get into bed with the latest technology, including super fast broadband through the interactive TV and to laptop, movies on demand, and a library of 4000 free digital music tracks.
