IACC Canada Presents Copper Skillet Competition Celebrating Best Chefs in Industry

IACC Canada (International Association of Conference Centers Canadian Chapter) will present the Canadian Copper Skillet competition at the BMO Learning institute in Toronto on Wednesday January 17th.
The Canadian chapter competition is the first step in competing on an international stage, and will feature Executive Chefs from premier IACC member properties including White Oaks Conference Resort and Spa in Niagara-on-the-Lake, The Banff Centre, and the BMO Financial Institute for Learning.

Each year IACC calls upon their global membership to participate in the Annual International Copper Skillet Competition to award the prestigious IACC "Chef of the Year". With over 400 world-wide IACC member properties, the competition brings together the most esteemed Chefs in the hospitality industry.

In the first stage of this competition, North American contestants are judged in three categories covering twelve criteria. Judges are chosen from outside the IACC membership and will be qualified and highly regarded food professionals.

The 2007 Theme for the competition is Thai Cuisine. IACC Canada's most celebrated Chefs will create their own unique and creative dish for the exclusive January 17th event.

The "Champion Chef" from each country will travel to the IACC Annual Conference to be held in New Brunswick, New Jersey USA April 19-22, 2007. On April 20th a timed cooking competition lasting 30 minutes will be held with chefs from Australia, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, the UK and the United States.

Designed to showcase the culinary artistry and skills of the best chefs at IACC-member hotels, resorts and conference centers worldwide, the competition places the spotlight directly on the important contributions chefs make to ensure each guest's experience is the very best possible.

Members of the media are invited to attend this much anticipated, exclusive event - with the Reception beginning at 5:30 PM, Competition at 6:30 PM at the BMO Learning Institute located at 3550 Pharmacy Avenue in Toronto.
