Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Undergoes Customized Renovations

The lavish Halifax Marriott Harbourfront in Nova Scotia is undergoing a $10 million renovation which appoints updates to guest rooms and bathrooms, and the Marriott prototype Fitness Centre.
"Our dramatic renovations are meant to provide the ultimate experience in comfort while traveling," said Leah Leslie, marketing director for the Halifax hotel. "Part of a comprehensive plan that began in 2006, we are updating the guest rooms, meeting space and Fitness Centre to position our property as a premier meeting destination where travelers can relax after a busy day."

All the hotel's Nova Scotia accommodations will be redone, and decorated in rich, vibrant tones - warm golds and burgundy, set off by accents like the royal blue chairs. Complete with the roll-out of Marriott's new ultra-plush bedding package, the hotel replaced traditional bedspreads with down comforters nestled inside sheeted duvets. The bedding features 300-thread-count, Egyptian cotton, white top and fitted bottom sheets, making them among the finest and softest sheets of any global hotel chain. The stylized bedding is accented with Euro shams, a decorative bed scarf and bolster.

The Halifax hotel's new guest rooms also feature completely new bathrooms with rich wood cabinets, dark granite countertops, curved shower curtain rods and rainforest shower heads.

In the plan for 2007: updated second floor meeting space reflecting the latest technology and functionality for any event.

The hotel's Fitness Centre, one of the first of its kind, is now open in a new location on the second floor. Windows and skylights will allow sunshine to blanket the Fitness Centre, inspiring hard-working guests to keep pushing on the brand new, top-of-the-line equipment. The fitness center is sure to show off Marriott's new look for the hotel chains' gyms. On the same floor as the fitness center, travelers can take advantage of the rejuvenating and relaxing treatments and services at Interlude Spa after a demanding workout.

The hotel is warm, friendly and inviting with the sounds of live music every week at the Fife & Drum, the hotel's Halifax restaurant and traditional Scottish pub. The hotel's restaurants are slated for renovation next year.
