Opening fall 2007, Hard Rock Hotel will provide planners a fresh new site in San Diego for meetings and events for up to 1,000 attendees. Featuring over 40,000 square feet of super tech-enabled indoor/outdoor meeting and event space, Hard Rock Hotel San Diego also provides arguably the best Downtown location for a meeting or event. On the city block bordered by Fifth Avenue and L Street and Sixth Avenue and K Street, the hotel is across the street from the San Diego Convention Center, at the ceremonial entrance to the historic Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego's dining and entertainment district, and one block from PETCO Park. The property will feature an upscale, contemporary design, signature restaurants, sophisticated nightlife and amenities and, of course, the distinctive thread that runs through all Hard Rock properties -- rock 'n' roll.
As with the rest of the hotel, Hard Rock's 40,000 square feet of meeting space will feature a modern, non-traditional design and cutting edge technology. Every meeting room will include group connectivity with WiFi-ready display stations/CPU's that can be networked for consistent, integrated multi-venue presentations and audio connectivity to all meeting spaces. The single largest indoor space is 9,200 square feet, accommodating up to 1,000 attendees.
Some of the more unique meeting/event spaces offered at Hard Rock Hotel San Diego include:
An expansive 8,700 square foot urban garden adjacent to the rooftop pool, bar and landscaped oasis. The ultimate choice for receptions and special events, this space is effortlessly integrated into the hotel's surroundings, offering birds-eye views of the Gaslamp Quarter and a sophisticated, outdoor ambiance.
A stunning 600 square foot boardroom overlooking the lobby featuring 16 foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glass walls on two sides and a media center of custom millwork that spans an entire third wall with 50" LCD high-definition TV and entertainment bar.
A 750 square foot glass-enclosed boardroom that overlooks the entertainment venue from the mezzanine, equipped with a 50" plasma TV, surround sound speakers and a private bar.
A 5,000 square foot venue ideal for concerts, movie premieres, corporate events and non-traditional weddings. It features a stage, offstage VIP area, talent Green Room, professional quality audio/visual equipment and lighting, and video and satellite broadcasting capabilities.
Hard Rock Suites -- With 159 Hard Rock Suites, Hard Rock Hotel San Diego provides meeting planners the ability to suitably and equitably accommodate large contingencies of VIP attendees. Offering an anything but plain vanilla design, Hard Rock Suites' three connecting spaces -- a bedroom, bathroom and living room -- create a significant sense of space and openness, and give guests separate and distinct areas for plugging in or chilling out.
Rock Star Suites -- 17 loft-like layouts, including one designed by the Grammy® Award-winning Black Eyed Peas, provide the ultimate VIP gathering area or small reception space. Unexpected design pairings, spa-like bathrooms and outdoor decks with decadent views of the city harmonize with the most advanced of modern technology. Rock Star Suites are equipped with integrated video and sound systems, including home-theatre entertainment centers, matte leather couches, vibrantly colored fur pillows, dark ebony floors and hand-woven custom rugs that elevate the chic urban loft idea. Ranging in size up to 1,200 sq feet, each suite is unique: the top floor Rock Star Suite features a fire pit and deck seating for 20, while another boasts 270-degree views of the San Diego Bay and an outdoor hot tub.
"Our goal is to blend the irreverent ambiance that is uniquely Hard Rock with outstanding service, customizable event packages and the ultimate in modern technology. All guests will be treated like Rock Stars and meeting planners will be provided with a 'backstage pass' that allows them immediate back-of-the-house access any time during their events. In a nutshell, holding events at Hard Rock will be different and fun for attendees, polished and efficient for the planner and in an environment that fosters creativity, not boredom," explains Melissa Olsen, Hard Rock Hotel San Diego's Director of Sales.
The 12-story, 315,000-square-foot property will also feature 420 rooms (almost half of which are suites), a stunning lobby lounge and rooftop pool bar created by Rande Gerber, Nobu restaurant by celebrated chef Nobu Matsuhisa, a fourth floor urban garden overlooking the Gaslamp Quarter, coffee shop, Rock Spa and fitness club.
