With a vintage "Tron" arcade game, a ping pong table and free breakfast each morning, Colorado-based InsureMe fits the profile of a great place to work.
But according to employee Megan Mahan, it's the people and the atmosphere at InsureMe that make it special.
"More than just a slogan, more than a goal, at InsureMe we're expected to strike a healthy balance between our personal and professional lives," Mahan said. "The general joie de vivre in this place is hard to describe but impossible to miss."
The Denver Business Journal recently named the company the second best place to work in Denver. InsureMe earned the distinction based on the results of an optional employee survey conducted by the business journal.
The award comes on the heels of a very productive year for InsureMe, both in terms of business success and critical acclaim.
Earlier this year, InsureMe earned praise from Working Mother magazine and the Great Place to Work Institute. In October the company's in-house leadership program was singled out by Leadership Excellence, a monthly magazine covering organizational and executive development.
"We don't do it for the recognition," says InsureMe President Tim McTavish. "But, hey, it sure is nice to be recognized."
