Talbert flies first to New York to check the Air Traffic Oceanic records and is apalled by the tapes. He goes on to St Anthony where he encounters the attractive Charlie Simpson, insurance investigator, who distrusts technology but knows all about human desires and deceit.

Talbert suspects the aircraft electronics and Charlie suspects fraud but doesn't know where to look except in the Atlantic. The accident investigators and St Anthony government are quite resigned to giving up the search but Talbert and Simpson believe that there is more to the disappearance than it seems. Talbert flies to Phoenix to get help from the electronics manufacturer.

Their suspicions are confirmed when Talbert is first driven off the road and then shot at. Slowly Talbert begins to suspects the truth and explains his theory to the local chief of police. But without an aircraft and without any paintings the chief of police can do nothing.

In Charlie's room for the first time Talbert suddenly works out what must have happened. Together they rush into the town to check his theory.

In this spellbinding yarn the reader is taken on to the flight deck of the lost aircraft as the story unfolds and only right at the very end is the amazing explanation revealed. This book is very cleverly constructed and technically right up to date. It is a worthy addition to the many mysteries in the Bermuda Triangle.
