I have to move and cannot take her with me. Sweet and funny, Ashes has been my pet for about a year now. (She's a year and 3 months old.) She's light grey (a little lighter than standard) and was purchased from a breeder. She'd be a great pet for children (although not young children) or a college student.
Chinchillas are very easy to take care of; I let her out in the Bathroom once a week to run around, give her a dust bath twice a week. She gets a handful of food once a day. Her cage needs cleaned once every 2-3 weeks, the cage is included in price and is six feet tall with two flap doors and a top lid. Eight removable, rearrangable platforms also included. Because of her large cage, she doesn't need to get out and exersize as much.
Ashes has never bitten anyone, but she will ''nibble'' on fingernails and taste fingers. She cannot be ''carried around'' for a long period of time, (Chinchillas get squirmy) but she will let you pick her up and transport her to a ''safe room'' where she can run around and ricoche off of you, furniture, walls, and other pets. :) She adores cats (I have two) and will come to the front of the cage to touch noses with them, or for a triskit, wheat thin, or raisin. She has been trained and is used to commotion in the household, but does need a quiet place to sleep in the afternoons. She's usually active morning (when I'm getting ready for work or school) and evenings (when I come home) I am sad to be giving her up, and hope she can find a great home!
