BDA is pleased to announce the appointment of Yuuichiro Nakajima as Representative Director of BDA KK. Mr. Nakajima joined BDA from Crimson Phoenix KK, a Tokyo-based advisory and investment firm. He has 20 years' experience in mergers and acquisitions advisory and principal investment work. Prior to BDA, he spent 10 years at S.G.Warburg and SBC Warburg (now UBS Investment Bank), Crosby Corporate Advisory, PricewaterhouseCoopers and, since 2003, Crimson Phoenix, which he co-founded and co-managed.

Mr. Nakajima has a bicultural and bilingual background, having grown up, studied and worked in both Japan and the United Kingdom. He will, with immediate effect, join BDA's Executive Committee. Mr. Nakajima will work closely with BDA's incumbent Director in Tokyo, Jeff Acton, who will report to Mr. Nakajima. They will together lead the effort to expand BDA's fast growing business in Japan.

Yuuichiro Nakajima started his banking career with S.G.Warburg (now UBS Investment Bank) in 1987 in London, advising UK and international clients on corporate finance. During his time at Warburgs, he served as Head of its Tokyo M&A team from 1994 to 1996. From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Nakajima was London-based Director and Head of Execution at Crosby Corporate Advisory, an M&A firm specialising on deals between European and Asian companies. Between 1999 and 2003 Mr. Nakajima was responsible for originating and executing transactions involving Japanese companies as a Managing Director in PricewaterhouseCoopers' investment banking business, first in London and then in Tokyo. In 2003, he set up Crimson Phoenix, a merchant bank focused on cross-border M&A advisory and principal investment, in Tokyo.
