New innovations in Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) are furthering the sustainable, “green” building trend by incorporating up to 85% recycled Expanded PolyStyrene (EPS). The hit Quorum Productions television program, Designing Spaces will feature Claudette Sumrall of Amazon Forms One, a leading ICF producer, showing viewers how they can incorporate ICFs into home construction.
“More and more people are striving to build green these days without compromising the integrity of the building materials,” says Sumrall. “We at Amazon Forms One have developed a product called Grid-Wall that is made of recycled Expanded Poly Styrene that is mixed with cement to produce a highly energy-efficient structure that is a deterrent to termites, nearly soundproof, fire-resistant, and that is rated for hurricane winds up to 200 mph. I will be showing viewers of Designing Spaces how they can incorporate this material into any building project.”
